What is the NMP PASYADA Program?

The Pasyada Program is the NMP's contribution to the Government's Program of boosting domestic tourism, inter-island commerce, trade and agro-industrial opportunities.
Pasyada Program offers seafarers, who train at NMP, an opportunity to bring their families, friends or barkada to NMP and avail of tour packages and livelihood investment opportunities at certain costs and charges.
The program is in cooperation/collaboration with the Department of Tourism (Regional Tourism Office 8), Seamen's Wives Association of the Philippines, Inc. Region 8 Chapter (SWAPI) and the NMP Services Association (NMPSA).

How can a seafarer avail of the PASYADA Program?
A seafarer must enroll in any of the training courses offered at the NMP to avail of the packages offered under the PASYADA Program.

What types of tour packages are available?
Currently, NMP offers two types of tour packages, the Marabut Beach Tour and the Tacloban City and Environs Tour organized for a minimum of five persons. Customized tour can likewise be arranged upon request.

What investment opportunities/ livelihood trainings do NMP offer?
In cooperation with SWAPI, Region 8 Chapter, livelihood training on culinary arts and other areas of interest to family members are available which includes baking, meat processing, food cart business, interior designing and handicraft.

Are there other activities offered under the Pasyada Program aside from those mentioned above?
Yes. Small group discussions/fora, bingo socials, fellowship and other social activities can be arranged for the seafarers and their families.

Registration

How can I register for the Pasyada Program?
Online registration is available. Please refer to the registration page. You can also register by mail (address: National Maritime Polytechnic Cabalawan, Tacloban City, Leyte), or by fax at (053) 325-5160. Download the registration form here.

How should I pay the registration fees?
Payment by cash is received at NMP.

How will I know if my registration is confirmed?
Confirmation notice will be sent to you by email.

Accommodation

Is accommodation included in the program?
NMP has a dormitory where participants can be billeted at reasonable rates. NMP however can recommend for other accommodation facilities within the city.

Does NMP offer discount on dormitory tariff?
Yes. NMP offers a thirty percent (30%) discount of the current Dormitory Tariff on a per room basis. Also, a maximum of two (2) children, 12 years and below checking in with their parents is free of charge as long as no additional bed is required.

Is there any age restriction for children?
Yes. Only children 3 years old and above are allowed to be accommodated due to activities and facility constraints.

Does NMP offers a Home Stay Program?
The Home Stay Program with NMP employees or SWAPI members is available in case there is full occupancy at the dormitory.
